If you are a Cirque du Soleil fan living in Connecticut, there are quite a few opportunities to see a show in the next few months. First, OVO, makes its second visit to Hartford on June 15-19 having been under the trademark blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) back in 2010. This time the show has been revamped for an international arena tour, using the retooling formula that Cirque has become fond of over the past 5-10 years, allowing the show to visit additional cities. Prior to its Hartford stop, OVO actually makes its first 2016 CT appearance from June 8-12 in Bridgeport at Webster
Just a short drive (or train) down to the Big Apple provides another offering. Cirque du Soleil reappears in New York City, this time with a richer story line that is more appealing to Broadway audiences with “Paramour” at the Lyric Theatre, which just had its soft opening April 16.
Kurios is a disorienting trip of senses and perceptions as audiences follow a time, space and dimension defying inventor on adventures. Kurios arrives in Boston under the Grand Chapiteau at Suffolk Downs from May 27-July 10. If you happen to miss it there, the show will stop at Randall’s Island Park in New York City at the end of September for about a month also. UPDATE: We added 57 pics from opening night in Boston here!
Not enough? Ok, Toruk, inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar will bring the world of Pandora to Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence from June 1-5 and then to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center September 7-11!
