Lake Compounce kicked off their summer season this past weekend. Recently, INHartfordMag.com was invited to tour the park prior to its 2017 opening for some behind-the-scenes first looks at the prep work happening all over the park.
While the park has been open a few weekends already this month, Memorial Day Weekend marked the point where the park will be open nearly every day until the end of August (exclusions: May 30, June 5-6). In addition, Crocodile Cove, the water ride area of the park, opened for the season on May 27th.
One thing we noticed that was new for 2017 is a “Season Dining Pass” as an add-on for season ticket holders. For $79, visitors can receive 2 meals, plus popcorn or cotton candy, everyday they visit the park. That averages less than a buck a day if you go every day. More realistically, you are likely to spend $10 a meal each time, so a season ticket holder just needs to go four days during the season and have two meals on those days to break even. I’m pretty sure if you are a season ticket holder you are likely to go more than four days this summer, so pretty smart add-on idea.
